This filter reduces sediment and chlorine in the water, plus Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s) like pesticides and insecticides, heavy metals such as lead and cysts (microscopic single cell parasites) including Giardia and Cryptosporidium.

VOC’s can seep into our drinking water as run-off from farms and agricultural industries, while heavy metals such as lead may enter the system from old pipework or plumping, particularly from the pre-1970s. Such metals can enter into our bloodstreams and accumulate in organs, tissues, brains and teeth, with children especially vulnerable.

In the UK, the average Briton drinks around 37.6 litres of bottled water a year. This is a hugely expensive drinking water option, especially at a time when many household budgets are being financially squeezed.

The Kinetico AquaGuard is fitted with a MACguard™ filter. How long a filter cartridge will last depends on your drinking water usage. An average family of four with average drinking water use can expect the cartridge to last approximately nine months to one year. Kinetico recommends annual cartridge replacements.
